Download and Installation

The Mentalab Explore Mobile App is available for iOS and Android.

Use the official app stores to download and install the app on your mobile device.

Official download sources

You can find the Explore Mobile App for iOS on the App Store and Android on the Play Store by clicking the respective badge:

Store availability can vary by region. If the app is not available in your store region, contact Mentalab support.

iOS installation

To install the Mentalab Explore Mobile App on iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the iOS app on the App Store by clicking the App Store badge in Official download sources

  2. Tap Get to download and install the app.

  3. After installation, open the app.

  4. Allow the permissions requested by the app, especially Bluetooth access, so that the app can connect to your Mentalab Explore device.

The iOS app supports iPhone and iPad.

The App Store listing states that the app requires iOS 12.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 12.0 or later on iPad.

Android installation

To install the Mentalab Explore Mobile App on Android:

  1. Open the Android app on the Play Store by clicking the Google Play badge in Official download sources

  2. Tap Install.

  3. After installation, open the app.

  4. Allow the permissions requested by the app, especially Bluetooth access, so that the app can connect to your Mentalab Explore device.

Android compatibility is handled by Google Play. If your device is not compatible, Google Play will indicate this before installation.

Mentalab also provides an official GitHub repository for the Explore Mobile App releases and related resources:

Use this repository for release information and additional resources.

For standard installation, use the App Store or Google Play whenever possible.

After installation

After installing the app:

  1. Turn on your Mentalab Explore device.

  2. Make sure the device is in advertising mode.

  3. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.

  4. Open the Mentalab Explore Mobile App.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Explore device.

Once connected, the app can be used to monitor and record ExG data, check impedance, monitor device status, configure montages, and apply data filtering.

Intended use

The Mentalab Explore Pro app and hardware are intended strictly for research, educational, and non-medical applications. The app is not intended for medical diagnosis or treatment.
