Hardware Requirements – Desktop

  • Processor: Intel i5 or equivalent, 2 GHz or faster

  • Memory: Minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended for long-term recordings and real-time analysis)

  • Storage: At least 2 GB of free disk space for installation; additional space for recorded data (typical dataset: ~275 MB for an 8-hour 8-channel recording at 250 Hz)

  • USB: One free USB-C or USB-A port for charging, data transfer, or tethered operation via isolator

  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.0 or higher for online streaming mode

Operating System Compatibility

  • Windows 10/11 (64-bit)

  • macOS 11.0 or later (ARM chip only)

  • Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or newer)

Older operating systems may not support Explore Desktop or the required Bluetooth drivers.

Mobile Devices

  • iOS: iOS 14.0 or later, compatible with iPhone and iPad

  • Android: Android 10.0 or later, with Bluetooth 5.0 support

  • Minimum 2 GB free storage space for recorded data and exports

To guarantee correct signal quality and App behavior, use one of Mentalab´s tested study phones

Recommendations

  • For long-term studies or experiments involving multiple devices, use a dedicated computer with sufficient CPU and RAM resources.

  • Always ensure latest firmware and software versions are installed before starting new recordings.

  • Disable unnecessary background processes (antivirus scans, system updates) during real-time streaming to reduce latency and packet loss.
