Export EEGLAB dataset

.edf and .bdf files can be exported to .set files compatible with Matlab’s EEGLab plugin. In the Menu Bar select ‘File’ > ‘Export’ > ‘EEGLab Dataset’. A pop-up will open to select the folder containing the .edf/.bdf files to convert. The .set files will be created in a subfolder called ‘datasets’ placed in the selected directory.

Convert BIN

You can convert the binary files into CSV or EDF files. In the Menu Bar select ‘File’ > ‘Convert BIN’. This will open a pop-up to select the file to convert, the output file format and the folder to save the converted files.

Converting to CSV generates four files: ExG, orientation, marker files and metadata.

Converting to EDF generates two files: ExG and orientation - markers will be written in ExG file. The data is actually recorded in BDF+ format (in 24-bit resolution)

Data repair

If some packets are dropped during recording, the binary file can be used to repair the recorded csv file. For this purpose, both the recorded csv and the .BIN file must be located at the same folder.

In the Menu Bar select ‘Tools’ > ‘Data Repair’. A pop-up will open to select the file to repair. The repaired file will be stored in the same folder containing the file selected, adding _recovered_ExG to the original name.
